Exxaro training opportunity (for the mining industry)

Exxaro is offering a unique training opportunity to
historically disadvantaged candidates who have recently
passed or are busy with Grade 12 and who have a keen
interest in a career in the mining industry specifically in
Engineering and/or Geology.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
• Candidates must achieve a pass rate on an NQF level
4 (Grade 12 or equivalent) with 50% for Mathematics,
Physical Science and English.
• They must currently be on level 4 or have completed it in
2010.

Successful candidates will be placed in the Exxaro Bridging
Programme from January 2012 to November 2012. The
purpose of this programme is to prepare candidates to
compete on merit for a bursary in 2013 to study:

• A degree in Mining, Metallurgical, Chemical,
Environmental, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial
Engineering, or an Honours Degree in Geology

The Exxaro Bridging Programme will be hosted at the
University of Pretoria. This is an all-inclusive bursary and
will cover accommodation, meals, tuition fees and a monthly
allowance.
