Internships

Interns will be paid a monthly stipend for a 12 month period. 
The internship will cover but may not be limited to the following areas:

1. ETQA Intern
Provide administration support in terms of the following functions:
Implementing and maintaining the ETQA accreditation status by the QCTO
Implementing and maintaining memorandums of understanding with national structures
Conducting accreditation and programme approvals activities
Registering assessors and moderators
Monitoring learner achievements
Certification of training providers and learners
General administrative support

Qualification: Human Resource Development/ Training or Business Management/ Administration


2. Communication Intern
Core responsibilities include:
Communications strategy and media relations
Annual road shows
Exhibitions
Conferences
Publications
Intranet and website
General administrative support
Stakeholder database management
Qualification: B degree/National Diploma in Communication or Public Relations.


3. IT Intern
Core responsibilities include:
Maintaining the IT infrastructure in a Microsoft Windows environment in terms of capacity, security and systems administration
Administering and maintaining information on Microsoft SQL database systems
End-user support of windows applications, email and anti-virus
Network trouble shooting
Printer trouble shooting
Data backup and recovery
Remote assistance to users at branch offices
Software installation
User training
General office administrative support

Qualification: Diploma/Degree in IT.


4. Finance Intern
Core responsibilities include:
Processing invoices on the accounting software
Processing electronic payments
Creditors statement reconciliations
Processing journals
Creditors control account reconciliations
Bank reconciliations
Financial internal controls
General administration in a finance environment
Qualification: B degree or a National Diploma in Finance with Accounting as a major subject.


5. SGB Intern
Core responsibilities include:
Supporting the development, validation and/or registration of mining and mineral sector qualifications, unit standards, skills programmes learnerships and learning material
Supporting the review and development of QCTO mining and minerals sector occupational qualifications
Administration and coordination of the logistics for the Technical Reference Groups (TRGs) and Community of Expert Practitioners (CEPs) standards generation meetings and workshops
Supporting standards generation projects approved by MQA Board
Capturing information on the MIS database system
Handle customer queries in own area of work, capture standard generation stakeholder information on the customer relationship management system with regards to standards generation
Assist with the administration of the mining artisan learnerships /apprenticeships
Assist with administration activities for artisan development in the sector
General administrative support in accordance with the MQA procedures
Qualifications:
Degree or Diploma in .Human Resources Development/Management of Training/Business Management and Administration/Office Administration and Technology
N6 Diploma in Management Assistant
NCV Level 4 in Office Administration or equivalent
The candidates to be considered for the internship must have:

Good communication and sound interpersonal skills

Knowledge of the mining and minerals sector will be advantageous
An understanding of legislation and developments in respect of education and training
Ability to work under pressure
Demonstrate a proactive attitude

The successful interns will be required to submit a monthly work integrated learning report.
