ITBLP Internship

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY (ICT) LEARNERSHIP

APPLICATIONS INVITED FOR THE 2012 INTAKE

Thirteen years ago leading companies from the ICT and banking sectors responded to a need for skilled IT staff with a learnership program aimed at providing talented youngsters from the previously disadvantaged communities with advanced Information and Communication Technology training.

ITBLP in partnership with the Belgium Campus, offer a qualification of a high standard - aligned with the needs of the international IT industry. Learners receive a Diploma in Information Technology, NQF level 6, with a total of 348 credits. The courseware includes the following courses: Programming Java, Computer Security; Mainframe; Programming Websphere; and Programming Cobol, SharePoint and other specializations as required by companies

The duration of the course is 18 months - comprised of 12 of institutional training and 6 months’ workplace training.

If vacant posts are available, employment is offered on successful completion of the course.

Admission requirements

ITBLP, sponsored by Bank Seta, Business Connexion, First National Bank, Gijima, IBM, MICT, Nedbank Ltd, South African Reserve Bank and Standard Bank, offers limited opportunities to applicants who satisfy the following admission requirements:

• South Africans who have matriculated and meet the minimum entry requirements for higher

education as set out by the Department of Education, with a minimum C symbol in Mathematics and English.

• Applicants be willing to study and stay in the Gauteng Province.

• Applicants must be willing to undergo screening assessments for a non-refundable fee of R 80.00

• Applicants must have no bad credit rating Applicants must have no criminal record.

• Applicants must have SA Citizenship
